Having a solid art background since childhood, I began my journey in wood carving in 1993 after acquiring a small set of carving tools. My first creation was a bearded "wood spirit" face carved into a piece of found driftwood. After many failed attempts and several piles of firewood later, I honed my skills and now find immense joy in my craft. Raised in the rolling hills of Western Pennsylvania, I draw constant inspiration from the rural landscapes, where I still reside today. Woodcarving is my passion; I live it and breathe it.
My carved pieces, including my popular custom carved walking sticks and hand carved Santas, have found their way into many collectors' homes across the U.S. and abroad. In 2000, I was honored as "Santa Carver of the Year" after winning Woodcraft's National Santa Carving contest. I have contributed numerous how-to articles for Woodcarving Illustrated Magazine and authored five instructional wood carving books to date through Fox Chapel Publishing. I feel very fortunate and grateful for the interest generated in my work.
All my carvings are meticulously created by hand, one by one, using only hand tools. Each carving is an original that stands apart from the others.
